Genesis     "One summer evening seven friends... Speaking of this and that, discover that they have a grand passion in common: wine..." Hence, is born, on a lark, "Terra delle Ginestre".     The partnership is formed. A suitable location in the country-side of Spigno Saturnia is quickly singled out: an old country house, well suited to the task at hand, is completely restored by the partners (friends). The objective of the cooperative is to produce wines from grape varieties indigenous to the South Pontinia country-side.     In fact, for some time now, in Italy there has been a return of interest toward the rediscovery of indigenous grape varieties that where hastily abandoned in favor of more widely recognized or reguested ones, as well as more productive vineyards. The wager     The choice of "Terra delle Ginestre", which derives from the love of the land, is not only romanticism. It is the endeavor to revive those once diffuse white grape vineyards like bellone and moscato di Terracina. It is the desire to return the red wines produced from the grapes of the little known varieties like uva vipera, primitivo and abbuoto to the table in harmony with local gastronomic delights.     The market offers space and possibility for diverse options. The region selected by the partners of Terra delle Ginestre isn't necessarily of greater or lesser importance among the possibilities. However, new wines, from antique vineyards, respecting tradition: this wager is possible.
